The Course
This is surely one of best triathlon courses in the world – but best leave
the sightseeing until before or after the race!! Further detailed maps are available
at www.usmevents.com.au.
The Swim (1 lap 1500m ocean swim)
A beach start in the tranquil waters of the Pacific Ocean. Mooloolaba beach
is traditionally flat but may encounter a shore break wave. Anticipated water
temperature 22-23deg C.
The Bike (8 x 5km laps - 40km)
If you have competed at Mooloolaba previously you find that approximately 40%
of the course is new for the ITU World Cup this year. The course is a testing
one in which you will encounter a slight hill approaching Alexandra Headland.
The Run (4 laps 10k)
The run remains the same as in previous years where you will head out along
the flat of Mooloolaba Esplanade before heading over the rise to Alexandra Headland.
The turn around will be located three quarters of the way down the hill. The
good news about this course is the spectacular back drop for the entire race
and the magnificent crowd support you will receive.

Shark Dive
Underwater World has offered any ITU World Cup competitor the chance to experience
swimming with sharks. Before you get too scared off Leanda Cave and Andrew Johns
have both take advantage of this. It’s completely safe but does require two
hours of your time – one hour training then one hour getting fitted out and
the dive.
Now . . .
Should you have any questions or require any further information please don’t hesitate to contact Donna Murray or the USM Events team.
We look forward to welcoming you to Mooloolaba and making your stay as pleasant as possible.
